Jaylen Brown Crowned 2024 NBA Finals MVP
After leading the Boston Celtics to their 18th championship title, Jaylen Brown was named the 2024 Bill Russell NBA Finals MVP. Brown received seven out of eleven MVP votes, with teammate Jayson Tatum receiving the remaining four.
The Celtics star signed a record-breaking contract last offseason and has exceeded expectations this postseason. He also won the Larry Bird Eastern Conference Finals MVP award, leading the Celtics to a sweep against the Indiana Pacers.
Brown made history by becoming the first player to win both the Eastern Conference Finals MVP and NBA Finals MVP awards. He averaged 20.8 points, 5.4 rebounds, and 5 assists in the Finals victory over the Dallas Mavericks. Brown’s impressive defense on Luka Doncic allowed the Celtics to shut down the Mavericks’ supporting players.
Brown’s clutch shooting was instrumental in the Celtics’ victory. Including a crucial mid-range jumper in Game 3 that sealed the win for Boston.
