Dani Olmo is expected to leave RB Leipzig this summer with Barcelona and Manchester City interested.
Manchester City and Barcelona have been granted an extension to trigger Dani Olmo’s release clause, which was initially set to expire on July 15.
Due to Olmo’s participation in Euro 2024 with Spain, the deadline has been pushed back to July 20. Barcelona had made a verbal offer for the RB Leipzig midfielder, but their financial limitations prevent them from paying the €60m (£51m) release clause upfront.
They seek a different payment structure, which may open the door for Manchester City to secure Olmo’s signature with a more favorable offer. City are looking to reinforce their midfield, especially with the uncertain futures of Kevin De Bruyne and Bernardo Silva.
Dani Olmo scored two goals in Spain’s run to the EURO 2024 final and is in line to start against England in Berlin.
