League football resumes. Well, while most football fans are slightly angered that there will be another international break, we all can still take solace in the fact that there are some pretty big matches coming this weekend.
The Champions League delivered some top matches in midweek.
So, let’s sit tight and enjoy some exciting league matches in Europe this weekend before the international break.
Four top matches to look forward to this weekend.
Premier League: Manchester United v Manchester City
Okay at this stage, I feel for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer. He just cannot catch a break, can he? Having just recovered from the embarrassing defeat they suffered at the hands of Liverpool, they have to face Manchester City early on Saturday. Ronaldo rescued a point for Manchester United in midweek, but Manchester City won comfortably against Club Bruuge.
This might just be the last straw for Solskjaer if his side falters again. Pep Guardiola’s men will be looking to get back to winning ways after losing at home to Crystal Palace last week.
It will surely be a very interesting Manchester derby on Saturday. A win for Manchester United over City at Old Trafford will help fans get over that defeat to Liverpool.
Premier League: Everton v Tottenham
Everton are currently struggling in the Premier League. The Toffees have lost their last three Premier League matches and they face a very stern test at home on Sunday. Everton will face Tottenham at Goodison Park and it will be a very different Tottenham side.
Antonio Conte will take charge of his first Premier League match as Tottenham manager on Sunday, and it promises to be exciting.
Premier League: West Ham v Liverpool
This match should be very interesting. West Ham have proven that their performance last season wasn’t just a fluke. They’ve been the second-best London club in the Premier League this season.
Their style is a bit different and it will be very interesting to see how they fare against a very fluid Liverpool side.
Serie A: AC Milan v Inter Milan
Derby Dells Madonnina. The big derby is on Sunday at the San Siro. Inter Milan are the reigning Italian Champions, but now they find themselves seven points behind AC Milan and Napoli.
Inter Milan will hope to cut the seven points gap between them and their rivals on Sunday. It will be Simone Inzaghi’s first derby as Inter Milan’s boss. Both teams have scored 53 goals combined in the Serie-A this season already, so expect more goals from this tie on Sunday.
That`s it… I hope the international break flies by.
