UCL Review: Football fans were casting doubts on Bayern Munich after their poor display in the first leg of their Round-16 clash with Austrian giants RB Salzburg. After their display tonight, no fan will ever doubt this Bayern team ever again.
The Bavarians thrashed Salzburg 7-1 in Germany to book a quarter-final spot.
A game that many looked forward to, because of the possibility of an upset. Fans were interested because of Salzburg’s display in the first leg. However, this tie was over after just 23 minutes. Robert Lewandowski scored a hat-trick inside 23 minutes to settle the tie. Gnabry, Muller, and Leroy Sane just increased the embarrassment for Salzburg.

Maximillian Wober gave away two penalties minutes of the match. Lewandowski expertly dispatched both to give Bayern a 2 goal lead inside the first 21 minutes.
The third goal came just a couple of minutes later. The Polish striker finished from close range before Serge Gnabry added a fourth after a mistake from Salzburg.
Muller added a brace before Leroy Sane added more to the already embarrassing scoreline in the 86th minute.
The result marked the second time in Bayern Munich history they scored seven goals in a UCL knockout round match, the other being their infamous 8-2 win over Barcelona in the 2020 quarterfinals.
