- Martin Odegaard, and Gabriel Jesus on target for Arsenal in comfortable London Derby win.
Martin Odegaard grabbed a brace inside the first 30 minutes to secure the win for the Gunners against a Chelsea side that never looked threatening in the game. The Gunners took the lead after just 17 minutes with a stunner. Martin Odegaard rifled home from the edge of Chelsea’s box after receiving a pass from Granit Xhaka at the edge.
Odegaard grabbed his second in a move similar to his first goal, also after some good work from Granit Xhaka down the left. Gabriel Jesus also added the third just 2 minutes after Odegaard’s second goal. Jesus’ goal settled the game after just 35 minutes, and Chelsea were left chasing shadows for the rest of the night.
Noni Madueke got the consolation goal for The Blues, but the rest of the game showed why Chelsea have been so poor this season.
Arsenal are back to winning ways and also on top of the Premier League table, at least until Manchester City’s game against West Ham today. The Gunners will be hoping the Citizens suffer an unusual slip up at home against the Hammers on Wednesday night.
