Al-Nassr forward Cristiano Ronaldo is reportedly set to quit the Middle East for a return to European football at the end of the season.
Cristiano Ronaldo aiming for Al-Nassr exit
Less than five months into his stay in the Middle East, CR7 is already looking to make his exit, with over two seasons still left to run on his £173 million mega deal.
According to a report from Spanish Outlet, Mundo Deportivo, the Portuguese superstar is growing frustrated with life in the Middle East and is looking for a swift exit.
Ronaldo joined the Saudi side in January after his controversial Manchester United exit.
The Portugal international was, however, complimentary of the League’s improvement in a recent post-game interview.
“We are much better. In my opinion, the Saudi League is getting better. Next year will be even better,” he told reporters when asked about the league.
“Step by step I think this league will be in the top five leagues in the world but they need time, they need players, they need infrastructure but I believe that this country has amazing potential. They have amazing people and the league will be great in my opinion.”
The 38-year-old has scored 14 goals in 16 games for Al-Nassr this season and despite his best efforts, the club finished second in the Saudi Pro League, 5 points behind winners Al-Ittihad.
