There is no doubt that Lionel Messi is one of the best players to have ever played football. The Argentine has spent most of his career at Barcelona. Before he left Barcelona, many of Messi’s critics always claim that he might not be able to perform well in another League.

His critics often compare him to Cristiano Ronaldo who has played and performed well in multiple leagues around Europe.

Lionel Messi moved to PSG this summer and many thought he was going to score a lot of goals in the French Ligue 1.

However, the Argentine has not scored in French League yet. Messi has scored three times for PSG, all coming in the UEFA Champions League.

PSG vs Lille.

Lionel Messi had a very bad game against Lille for PSG tonight. He was the lowest-rated player against the defending Champions and has not been at his best in the Ligue 1 this season. Paris Saint Germain didn’t need him though, because after Messi was substituted in the 46th minute, PSG played better.

PSG were able to beat Lille thanks to an 88th-minute winner scored by Angel Di Maria. Angel Di Maria was the man of the match as he scored one and assisted a goal for the team.

Critics Right About Lionel Messi?

Some Premier League fans are of the opinion that a different terrain will affect Lionel Messi’s performances and that is clearly showing this season.
Although Messi is not playing in the EPL, Ligue 1 is the second European League he has ever played in, and he is currently not doing well.

Great players can play in any football league and be effective, but Lionel Messi’s performances in the Ligue 1 do not show that he has settled in at all.

Messi needs to start scoring in the French League so he can show that he can be decisive in any league or competition.
