Antony is reportedly pushing to leave Manchester United this week amid interest from Jose Mourinho in bringing him to Fenerbahce.
Antony has reportedly informed Manchester United bosses of his desire to leave the club. The Brazilian winger has grown increasingly frustrated with his lack of playing time and is seeking a new challenge. Turkish giants Fenerbahce have emerged as frontrunners to land the Brazilian on loan, Mourinho keen to offer him a lifeline.
The transfer window in Turkey will remain open until Friday, meaning Fenerbahce still have plenty of time to get a deal done. They are not the only club in the race. Ajax are also interested in bringing him back to the Netherlands.
Clubs in Spain and Italy have also been credited with a desire to land Antony, who earns around £200,000 per week at United. He joined the Red Devils for a transfer fee of £85million. However, he is yet to rediscover the form he showed at Ajax before moving to England.
The report also states that a move to Saudi Arabia could be a possibility for Antony over the coming weeks. The country’s transfer window does not close until October 6, suggesting he could still leave United in the near future even if Fenerbahce fail to sign him. The likelihood of a departure seems greater than it was a few weeks ago.
Any move is likely to be a temporary one. United are reluctant to sell Antony until at least the end of the season. He remains tied down until 2027, having signed a five-year deal upon his arrival from Ajax.
