Barcelona continue superb dorm with a 4-0 victory over arch-rivals
Well, this one didn’t go as most people would have predicted – talk about surprising. It wasn’t surprising that Barcelona played good football once again tonight. However, how toothless Real Madrid looked without Karim Benzema was shocking.
Carlo Ancelotti made some very bad choices in this game. Xavi deserves credit for how organized his side were throughout the entire game.
Match Report
Barcelona started and ended the game as the better side. The Catalans looked more intentional on the ball and their structure was impressive.
Ousmane Dembele rolled back the years by combining well with Aubameyang to create Barcelona’s first goal. The Frenchman looked really sharp against a shaky Nacho.
Barcelona could have scored more than 3 goals in the first half, but they wasted some of their chances.
Dembele created Barça’s second goal too with a very good cross that was headed in by Ronald Araujo.
Real Madrid never looked like getting back into the game even after conceding the second goal. An early second-half goal from Ferran Torres settled the game before Aubameyang completed his brace to put a gloss on the scoreline for Xavi’s men.
This is definitely a confidence booster for Barcelona and it is something they can certainly build on for the rest of this season and the next season.
Carlo Ancelotti will have enough time to reflect on this performance, due to the international break. His side are still on course to win the La Liga, but performances like this are unacceptable, especially at the Bernabéu
