Inter Miami and Al-Ahly played out a goalless draw in the opening match of the all-new prestigious FIFA Club World Cup tournament. Lionel Messi came close a couple of times, but the Barcelona legend could not inspire his side to all 3 points in the first match of the FIFA Club World Cup.

Also in Group A, Porto and Palmeiras played another goalless draw. The Brazilian side had opportunities but could not score against the European opponents in an end-to-end encounter.
Chelsea-bound Estevao Willian impressed and claimed the man of the match award in that tie, but he could not help Palmeiras claim all 3 points out there at the MetLife Stadium.

So far, only teams in Group A are having a hard time finding the back of the net. In Groups B and C, goals are flowing.
Bayern and PSG Making Rain Goals at the 2025 Club World Cup
Bayern Munich took semi-professional side Auckland City to the cleaners yesterday. The Bavarians thrashed the New Zealanders 10-0. Michael Olise, Jamal Musiala, and Kingsley Coman all scored as Vincent Kompany’s men ran riot.

In Group B, an all-European tie produced 4 goals at the Rose Bowl, but it remained incredibly one-sided. Paris St Germain took on Atlético Madrid, and the new European champions continued where they left off in the UCL final.
PSG dominated Atlético Madrid, who struggled with playing out from the back. Fabian Ruiz and Vitinha gave PSG a 2-0 lead going into half-time. Senny Mayulu and Lee Kang-In added the third and fourth for the dominant European champions.

Also in Group B, Botafogo took a huge step towards qualifying for a place in the knockout rounds when they defeated Seattle Sounders 2-1 at the Lumen Field.
The Club World Cup is beginning to come alive, and more big matches are to come as Chelsea take on LAFC today, and Real Madrid host Al Hilal.
