- German giants Bayern Munich Could Put Alphonso Davies up for sale this summer
Bayern Munich’s star Alphonso Davies faces a crucial decision as the club gives him an ultimatum. Bayern Munich want to tie the Canadian down on a long term contract, as he has entered the final 18 months of his current contract in Bavaria. Alphonso Davies could be put on the market if he does not decide on his future before April.
Reports indicate that Bundesliga giants are growing impatient with the prolonged talks and are ready to take action. If Davies doesn’t commit to a new deal soon, Bayern Munich will explore other options, potentially listing him for transfer.
This development has piqued the interest of top European clubs like Real Madrid, Chelsea, and Manchester City. Davies, one of football’s best full backs currently, would undoubtedly draw significant attention of more top clubs if he is available in the transfer market.
It is expected that Bayern Munich would demand a substantial sum for the 23-year-old left-back. The Bavarians are reportedly hoping they can recoup €50 to €60 million for Davies, if he decides to reject a new contract and decides to leave Germany.
Potential New Manager Influence
Bayern Munich could be looking at a bigger restructuring even on the pitch if Davies choses to leave. New Director Max Ebrel has spoken about the club needing to sort things out very early this summer.
They are still hunting for a new manager, and although Bayern are favourites to get Xabi Alonso, their immediate direction in terms of football is still uncertain.
A manager like Alonso would love to have an adventurous full back like Davies. Just like Grimaldo and Jeremie Frimpong are currently excelling under him at Leverkusen. Getting Xabi Alonso could also help influence the decision of Alphonso Davies.
