Saturday Matches Betting Preview
Arsenal v Tottenham
Another true test of Arsenal’s mettle this season comes at the Tottenham Hotspur stadium early on Saturday afternoon. Arsenal failed their first big test of the season against Manchester United, but this is another chance to prove doubters wrong against their local rivals.
Tottenham have 3 wins in their last 5 matches against the Gunners. 2019 was the last time these two teams played out a draw. Given the historyof this fixture, it is always filled with goals, with at least 2 goals being scored in each of the last 9 matches in all competitions.
Arsenal are slightly backed @2.09 to win this one, majorly because of their home form so far this season, with Spurs coming in @3.59.
Tip – Arsenal are averaging 2.4 goals per 90 this season, Spurs are slightly better with 2.6 per 90.
Expert tip will be an Over 1.5 goals pick for this game.
Crystal Palace v Chelsea
Graham Potter’s first Premier League match in charge of Chelsea. The Vicarage road is not a happy hunting ground for anyone in the Premier League, much less a very shaky Chelsea side.
Chelsea have scored 8 goals in the Premier League this season, so it will be harder for them against a physical Palace side. Palace are better in form than Chelsea, who have won 7 out of a possible 15 points in their last 5 matches in all competitions.
Chelsea are backed to win, but with their goal scoring and chance creation problems, it could be a slippy one.
Liverpool v Brighton
Jurgen Klopp side have not started the season the way many thought they would. However, an opportunity to get back in form presents itself against Brighton. The East Sussex club are undergoing what looks like a transition after manager Graham Potter was snapped up by Chelsea. Will new manager Roberto De Zebri start on a great note with an upset against Liverpool?
The odds disagree with that. Liverpool are well favored to defeat the former Sassuolo manager on his Premier League bow.
Liverpool have been shaky this season, but the only real blemish on their recent form is their embarrassing loss in Naples.
Brighton have a poor record against Liverpool with one win and two draws in 12 meetings. However that win came in February last year, so a little recency bias might help in picking an option. Also, The Reds seem to be enjoying the bad attitude of conceding first in games recently, so punters can give that a look in too.
Inter Milan v AS Roma
Jose Mourinho’s Roma will visit fumbling Inter Milan. Roma are only one point better than Inter Milan this season despite their identical recent form. Everything points to a close battle at the Giuseppe Meazza on Saturday evening.
Inter Milan have a 100% record at home this season, and Roma’s away form is average. The Giallorossi are also averaging one goal per 90, inferior to Inter Milan’s 2.33 per 90 minutes.
Tip – With Inter Milan’s superior goal scoring stats and Roma’s unpredictable defense, a wise pick will be Inter Milan to win or
Sevilla v Atletico
Sevilla’s start to the season has been poor, and that has led to speculations about the security of Lopetegui’s job. Their horrendous form sees them sit 15th on the La Liga table, just one point off the drop zone.
The visit of Atletico presents a chance for the Seville side to kickstart their season, but it is easier said than done against an Atletico side also looking to climb up the table.
The Colchoneros are already eight points off leaders Real Madrid and five points off Champions League spot.
Sevilla surprisingly have the better h2h record against their opponents today. With the goal scoring form of both teams so far this season, it might be a low scoring affair.
Sevilla are backed to pick uo all three points @3.02 and Atletico are slightly favored @2.62.
