Matchday 3 of the UEFA Champions League continued on Wednesday with some mouthwatering clashes.
The biggest fixture was undoubtedly Barcelona vs Bayern Munich, Hansi Flick’s former club coming up against his current employers.
Raphinha stole the show with a stunning hat trick, as the Blaugrana secured a convincing 4-1 win over Vincent Kompany’s men.
Barca had lost six straight games against Bayern before tonight but, under the guidance of Flick, frequently cut through the German side with ruthless efficiency.
Harry Kane briefly equalized, but Robert Lewandowski quickly restored Barca’s lead. Two expertly-taken breakaway goals, assisted by Marc Casado and Lamine Yamal, sealed Raphinha’s hat-trick, wrapping up the contest before the hour mark.
Bayern’s struggles continue with just three points from three games, which leaves them 23rd in the Champions League table.
Elsewhere, Erling Haaland’s brace, including an incredible acrobatic finish, propelled Man City to a 5-0 romp over Sparta Prague. Atletico Madrid fell 3-1 to Lille, and Liverpool maintained their perfect record with a 1-0 win over Leipzig.
