- Chelsea’s UCL Qualification Fate in Their Own Hands
Chelsea defeated Everton 1-0 at Stamford Bridge thanks to a sweet strike from Nicolas Jackson in the first half. The Blues had to defend their one goal lead for more than 60 minutes as they continue to chase a UCL qualification spot at the top of the Premier League table.
The Blues have lost a bit of ground in the race for a top 5 finish after drawing away at Brentford earlier in April and also at home to Ipswich. However, two wins away at Fulham and a win at home on Saturday puts their fate right in their own hands.
Chelsea have been falling down the Premier League table since the beginning of 2025. With the club struggling to win games that would have sealed UCL qualification already.
Now Chelsea have it all to do in the final 4 fixtures of the season. Enzo Maresca’s men face Liverpool next at Stamford Bridge in a must-win game.
After that, they will travel to Newcastle before playing their last home game of the season against Manchester United, and then end the season away at the City ground against Nottingham Forest.
For Chelsea to stand a solid chance of qualifying for the UCL next season, The Blues must win every single game left this season, and hope one of their competitors for UCL places slips up.
