- Ruben Amorim Now Very Likely To Join Liverpool
Liverpool have reportedly agreed personal terms with Sporting Lisbon manager Ruben Amorim to take over next season. The 39-year-old Portuguese has been linked with a move to the Premier League, with Chelsea, Liverpool and Newcastle linked with him in recent months.
Now according to Sky Germany, Amorim has negotiated and accepted personal terms with Liverpool, and he will join the Merseyside club in the summer as they hope to start a new era as Jürgen Klopp will leave in June.
Ruben Amorim is still quite young for a manager, but he has achieved so much already, especially in the Portuguese league.
The Sporting Lisbon manager has managed 215 matches for Sporting and won over 150, with his side scoring 456 times. Despite having to deal with losing key players yearly, he has always managed to keep the club competitive, especially in the League.
Despite the rumours of Amorim joining Liverpool, sources at the club have refuted reports of an agreement.
The Reds were previously keen on a move for Bayer Leverkusen manager Xabi Alonso, but Alonso has stated that he will remain with Leverkusen next season.
It will be a tough task to replace Jürgen Klopp, but with Amorim’s penchant for attacking football, quick build-up and pressing, he could be an ideal replacement.
