Romelu Lukaku inspired Chelsea to a 3-1 win over Aston Villa.
Chelsea missed him in some games.
His Goals Are What Chelsea Need Now.
Romelu Lukaku and Timo Werner both got injured against Malmo in October, and that was when Chelsea injury woes began. However, Lukaku showed how influential he can be for Chelsea as he led Chelsea to victory against a Stubborn Aston Villa side.
October was a very good month for Chelsea. The blues consolidated their position on top of the league and even Thomas Tuchel was awarded by the league for his team’s good form.
Since then, Chelsea have dropped off the table, dropping points against teams they should have beaten comfortably. The 1-1 draw against Burnley, the 1-1 draw at home to Everton, the 0-0 draw against Wolves and some other matches where they missed having a prolific and experienced striker like Lukaku.
Lukaku`s Impact
Romelu Lukaku came on today when the score was 1-1 and he converted the first clear chance he got. The Belgian headed Chelsea into the lead. Lukaku`s presence was felt as he kept disturbing the Aston Villa defense. Lukaku was also brought down in the box for Chelsea`s third goal. His performance shows that Thomas Tuchel’s side are a better team with him on the pitch.
In the matches that Chelsea have dropped points, it could have been very different if Romelu Lukaku was present. Especially against teams like Burnley, Everton, and Wolves.

With a performance like this, Lukaku has cleared the doubts of some Chelsea fans. Even if he has only scored 4 league goals, the Belgian doesn’t look like he lacks confidence. That is a very good sign for Chelsea as the Belgian showed once again that he is a striker the Blues can trust whenever he is fit.
Chelsea take on Brighton on Wednesday and they will be hoping that Lukaku will continue his good form against them as they begin the second chapter of the EPL season.
