Match Report
Inter Milan started the game well against City. The Italians were up for it and were challenging Manchester City to every tackle, while cutting the space needed to operate in the middle.
Inter Milan had a few half chances of their own in the first half, but the best chance of the game went to City’s Erling Haaland, who could not finish past Andre Onana. Kevin De Bruyne also had to be substituted out because of a knock he picked up.
The second half yielded more chances for Inter Milan. Manuel Akanji gifted Martinez the ball, but the Argentine selfishly tried to find the goal from a difficult angle instead of finding his teammates inside the box.
City took the lead 7 minutes after the hour mark. Rodri expertly curled home a loose ball after an attacking overload orchestrated by Bernardo Silva.
Inter Milan equalized almost immediately with Federico Dimarco placing looping header that beat Ederson only to be denied by the crossbar. Dimarco had the chance to head in on the rebound, but Romelu Lukaku was in the way of that attempt.
The Chelsea loanee also had a clear chance to head Inter back into the lead, but Ederson saved his attempt.
The Brazilian goalie also kept out a last minute attempt from Inter Milan to help Manchester City get over the line and win their first Champions League trophy.
