City Will Be Signing The Player Labelled “The Next Lionel Messi”
Manchester City and River plate are very close to signing Real Madrid and Manchester United’s target Julian Alvarez. Alvarez is a 21-year old forward who has won five caps for Argentina and has been compared to Lionel Messi sometimes by Argentine media.
Alvarez made his debut for River plate in 2018. Since his debut, he has been eyed up by top European clubs like City, Madrid, and United.
However, Guardiola’s club are the ones making a move for the Argentine forward. Manchester City are very close to agreeing on a fee for Alvarez even after they declined against paying his €25M release clause. The Citizens are negotiating for a lesser price and the deal could be struck this week.
Manchester City are offering €16M plus add-ons, but River Plate want €21M guaranteed. Other aspects of the deal have been sorted out and a five-year deal has been discussed.
Spurs Closing In On Adama Traore
Manchester City will send him back to River Plate on loan till the end of the current campaign and other sources believe the 21-year old might join up with City after the end of the 2022 World Cup.
Manchester United have been linked with the youngster but they never contacted River Plate. Real Madrid also didn’t make any move for the forward.
Alvarez is a right-footed forward who is not shy of shooting. He can play as a striker and also as a second striker. He is fast and is also a very good finisher.
