Manchester City could be without several key players for their crucial game against neighbours Manchester United this weekend due to a growing injury list.
City already faced fitness concerns before the international break, which saw a number of their stars withdraw from national team duty.
The latest blow came from forward Omar Marmoush, who picked up a knee injury while playing for Egypt. He sustained the injury early in Tuesday’s 0-0 draw against Burkina Faso and is now expected to miss a period of time on the sidelines.

A statement from the club confirmed the news, saying: “Manchester City FC can confirm that Omar Marmoush has sustained a knee injury whilst on international duty with Egypt.
“The City striker suffered the injury in the early stages of Egypt’s World Cup qualifying match with Burkina Faso on Tuesday evening.”

Other players sidelined include John Stones, Savinho, Phil Foden, Abdulkodir Khusanov (who had to leave the Uzbekistan squad with a calf injury), and Rayan Cherki, a long-term absentee.
Manager Pep Guardiola is set to provide a full update at his press conference on Friday. With only three points from their first three games, City will be desperate to secure a win against their fierce rivals, United, and get their season back on track.
