- Manchester United To Sign Everton Defender and Crystal Palace Forward
Manchester United are intensifying their efforts to sign Everton’s promising defender, Jarrad Branthwaite. The club is reportedly adopting a data-driven approach after the INEOS buy-in. They are targeting younger players, and Branthwaite fits INEOS strategy well.
The Red Devils are viewed as front-runners in the race to secure Branthwaite’s signature, as they aim to bolster the team’s defence. Also, Raphael Varane has been linked with a move away from Manchester United, with Al Nassr showing strong interest in the former Real Madrid star. Branthwaite could be Manchester United’s replacement for Varane.
Jarrad Branthwaite has impressed since re-joining Everton after his loan spell in the Eredivisie. Everton signed the young English defender from Carlisle back in 2020, and he has developed into one of the best Under-21 defender in the world.
United are also monitoring Crystal Palace forward Michael Olise. There have been a few publications about a proposed move to Old Trafford for the Frenchman in the summer.
Olise was on Chelsea’s radar last summer, and the Blues tried to get him on the cheap. However, Olise decided to stay at Palace and sign a new deal that has now almost doubled his transfer value.
Olise, despite his injuries, has also been Crystal Palace’s best player this season. The 22-year-old is a talismanic figure on the pitch for Roy Hodgson’s men anytime he has been available. Manchester United are reportedly willing to offer Crystal Palace around £50m for the Frenchman’s signature.
