- Manchester United Join The Race To Sign Chelsea Midfielder
Manchester United are in for a £55M swoop for Chelsea’s Mason Mount. The Chelsea star is reportedly now a primary target for The Red Devils.
Chelsea are likely to sell Mason Mount this summer because of the real possibility of him leaving on a free transfer next summer. The Blues also need to balance the books following their winter transfer window splurge.
Chelsea value Mason Mount at around €85M, but Manchester United could get the price down to €60m, because of his contract situation.
Still, everything can be changed by Mauricio Pochettino, who will take over at Chelsea in the summer. The Argentine manager is a big fan of Mason Mount, and will try to convince the English midfielder to sign a new contract, which will put an end to all transfer rumours. However, many sources claim it might be too late so save Mount’s career at Stamford Bridge.
Much like every layer at the club, Mount has had a horrendous season with Chelsea. He has underperformed by all standards this season, and with Chelsea bringing the likes of João Félix and Christopher Nkunku in the summer, the blues might not need to sign a replacement.
Mason Mount still hopes to continue at the club, but a tempting offer from Manchester United would be hard to turn down. Arsenal and Liverpool are also monitoring Mount’s situation closely.
