There’s no better time to remind people about your big game abilities than a nationally televised game against the Golden State Warriors. LeBron James recorded a season-high 56 points to lead the Los Angeles Lakers to a 124-116 win over the Warriors on Saturday night.

Big Night For The Lakers

Firstly, this was a huge win for the Lakers. One that snaps a four-game losing streak. Considering the amount of negative press the team has received in the NBA recently, this win was vital. The Warriors had a 12-point lead in the third quarter before the Lakers fought back through LeBron. James put up 56 points, a personal high since joining the Lakers. He ties Atlanta’s Trae Young for most points in a single game this season.

Stephen Curry led the Warriors in scoring with 30 points but the rest of the team performed in a disappointing fashion. This result sees the Lakers (28-35) sit ninth in the Western Conference. The Warriors (43-21) remain second in the Western Conference. This was probably James’ best game as a Laker, at least from an offensive perspective. He made big shot after big shot, knocked down his free throws (12 of 13) and set up Anthony for the game-deciding 3-pointer.

LeBron’s Night

LeBron James always seems extra pumped for NBA matches against the Warriors. Although things seem to have calmed down, there used to be a lot of bad blood between them. However, as far as the actual performance, James had a fantastic night. His best of the season and possibly his best in a Laker jersey which is extra special when you consider his age, 37.

Warriors Struggles

As for the Warriors, they are still without Draymond Green and that’s crucial. They are 15-15 without him this season and 28-6 when he plays. The difference when he doesn’t play is seismic and easily noticeable. Despite the fact that he’s a big miss, he isn’t a savior. The other players are failing to step up in big moments. Klay returned to fanfare but he’s been in a slump for weeks and a few players are shooting poorly. Warriors head coach Steve Kerr needs to find solutions and find them quickly.
