The Golden State Warriors are reportedly desperate to bring Kevin Durant back and pair him with Stephen Curry.
With the February 6 trade deadline looming, the Golden State Warriors are racing against time to save their season.
According to sources, the team has been aggressively exploring options to acquire a star player, with former player and Phoenix Stuns forward Kevin Durant at the top of their wish list.
Durant was with the Warriors for three years before leaving to join the Brooklyn Nets.
According to Brett Seigel of Clutch Sports, the Warriors and Suns are engaged in talks to make a deal happen.
“These extensive conversations have reached a new level,’ the report said.
‘This has gone from an idea to a realistic scenario to something we are actively preparing for. Golden State actually wants to make this happen again.”
The Warriors’ sense of urgency is understandable, and for good reason. Stephen Curry is 36, and it is clear he cannot carry this team to contention without help.
Warriors are the 11th seed in the Western Conference, and their playoff hopes are dwindling.
Landing a big name and a 28 PPG player like Durant could return the Warriors to contenders.
