Italy Stunned by North Macedonia In Palermo.
Portugal Book Playoffs Final Breath After Defeating Turkey 3-1
It`s going to be another World Cup without Italy. The European Champions are out of the playoffs after Aleksander Trajkovski`s late winner in Palermo.
Italy were drawn against the Southern Europeans but many expected the 2006 World Cup winners to ease past their opponent. It was supposed to be a Portugal v Italy playoffs final, but Trajkovski`s goal has changed that.

Italy 0-1 North Macedonia Match Summary
North Macedonia pull off one of the great upsets in World Cup qualifying history by defeating Italy at the Renzo Barbera, knocking the Azzurri out of the competition.
Aleksandar Trajkovski scored the decisive strike for the visitors in stoppage time with a perfect effort on his right foot that beat Gianluigi Donnarumma to hand his side the victory. Italy pressed all evening, but failed to find the back of the net courtesy of brilliant defending from Blagoja Milevski’s men and their own wasteful finishing. The European champions will not be in Qatar, while North Macedonia advance to the final stage in Path C qualifying.
PORTUGAL ADVANCE TO “PATH C” PLAY-OFF FINAL
Portugal avoided an upset against Turkey as they book the Play-off final spot. It was a very nervy game at the Dragao, but Burak Yilmaz`s 85th-minute penalty miss derailed Turkey`s dream of a comeback against Portugal tonight.
Match Summary
The hosts looked comfortable in the first half, taking a 2-0 lead into half-time thanks to goals from Otavio and Jota, with Silva also hitting the post in the build-up to the opening goal. Turkey rallied after the break and pulled one back through Yilmaz after a lovely bit of build-up play.
The captain then had the chance to equalize from the spot after Fonte fouled Unal, but he hit the bar. Matheus slotted in late on to seal the win.
It will be PORTUGAL v NORTH MACEDONIA in the final of the Path C Playoffs. The final will be on Tuesday 29th of March 2022.
