• Real Madrid Need A Style To Neutralize Hansi Flick’s Barca

Barcelona defeated Real Madrid once again this season in the final of the Copa del Rey on Saturday in an enthralling clash at La Cartuja Stadium.

Real Madrid Need "Real Method" To End Barça's Classico Domination
Real Madrid lose a final again against Barca this season.

The Blaugranas have now beaten Real Madrid three times this season, twice to lift a trophy. This is a worrying trend for Los Blancos, and they need a real method or style to counter what this Barcelona side currently shows.

Barcelona have been imperious this campaign. They are strong favorites to win the Champions League, having already beaten Real Madrid to win both the Super Cup and the Copa del Rey. They also sit four points clear of Real Madrid at the top of the La Liga table, with a crucial El Clásico match coming up in the League.

In the Copa del Rey final, Real Madrid tried to play on the counter, just as they did in the Super Cup final. Although they looked dangerous at times, their approach failed again on Saturday.

Hansi Flick’s Barcelona side know exactly what to expect from Real Madrid, a team that massively lacks midfield options. Since Toni Kroos left, Los Blancos have struggled to control games against teams with strong midfield units like Barcelona and Arsenal. They urgently need an alternative method.

New Approach Needed

Real Madrid must look beyond this season. With Carlo Ancelotti expected to leave, they have to bring in a coach who can instill a real dominating method or style of play, so Los Blancos no longer always rely on counter-attacks against Barcelona.

Additionally, Madrid need better midfielders to support the next coach. Relying too much on the individual brilliance of Rodrigo, Vinicius, Mbappé and Bellingham has limited the productivity of this current team — and especially what they could become under a manager capable of properly platforming their top players.

Real Madrid desperately need a real coach with a real method to limit Barcelona’s dominance, or Los Blancos risk entering another “underperforming galácticos” era.
