Manchester United and Crystal Palace wrapped up Premier League gameweek 36. A matchweek that has delivered entertainment and goals for Premier League fans. Chelsea surprised everyone by thrashing West Ham 5-0. Arsenal beat Bournemouth, Manchester City and Erling Haaland ran riot against Wolves, and Liverpool finally got back to winning ways in the Premier League.
Let’s rank the top 5 players in gameweek 36 of the 2023/24 Premier League season.
Harvey Elliott
Harvey Elliott’s strike against Tottenham is definitely one of the best in the Premier League this season.
The English midfielder assisted Cody Gakpo’s goal before he unleashed a banger from just outside the box himself. An impressive performance that he will never forget.
Callum Hudson-Odoi
Callum Hudson-Odoi helped his side to a 3-1 victory over already relegated Sheffield United. The former Chelsea winger was at his best on Saturday as he scored two fantastic goals to help Forest seal valuable 3 points on the road.
Michael Olise
Michael Olise was on hand on Monday night to compound the woes of Manchester United and their manager Erik ten Hag. The Frenchman scored two impressive goals on the night as Palace thrashed United 4-0.
He opened the scoring with a solo run from midfield after beating Man United midfielder Casemiro. The Manchester United linked winger scored his second goal with a thumper from the edge of the box.
Nicolas Jackson
Well, he did not miss much on Sunday against West Ham. Cole Palmer, Noni Madueke, and Nicolas Jackson have been slamming it for Chelsea recently, and that continued against a sorry West Ham side.
Nicolas Jackson benefited directly from an unselfish decision by Madueke early in the second half for his first goal. He finished neatly after being played through on goal by Caicedo for Chelsea’s fifth on the day. An impressive outing for the Senegalese.
Erling Haaland
The Art of finishing, by Erling Haaland. The Norwegian has come to life at the perfect time to fire Manchester City to yet another title. He scored 2 penalties, and 2 assured finishes as he pulled clear at the top of the scorers chart. He netted a hat-trick before half-time – one header in between two penalties.
His fourth goal was pure Erling Haaland power. Foden’s searching ball found Haaland one on one with Kilman who made the mistake of letting the City striker work the ball to his left foot. Haaland bent the ball with ferocious power into the left corner to seal the victory for Manchester City.
Erling Haaland is the best player for Premier League gameweek 36 of the 2023/24 season.
