Manchester City 4-3 Real Madrid: Entertaining First Leg will see City take a slender lead to Spain.
Match Report!
Wow! Where do we start from?
City and Real Madrid served up what is arguably the most entertaining match of the UCL season so far, yeah it was that good.
The game started, and City flew out of the box.. literally. Kevin De Bruyne caught a clean header past Thibaut Courtois before Real Madrid could even settle down. Manchester City could have gotten a second, but missed a couple of breaks. However, they doubled their lead eight minutes after their first. A cross from the right-hand side wasn’t controlled by David Alaba. Gabriel Jesus pounced on it to give City a two-goal lead.
Manchester City could have made the game safer after their second goal, but they missed a series of chances. Riyad Mahrez’s miss was the clearest. However, Real Madrid replied with an outstanding and instinctive finish from Karim Benzema.
City took the one-goal lead into halftime, but Foden extended their lead once again in the second half with a controlled header. Then Vinicius Junior scored what was perhaps the goal of the game. The impressive Brazilian glided away from Fernandinho, who replaced John Stones. The Brazilian had acres of space to explore and he did, happily finishing up his solo run with a well-placed ball past Ederson to bring Real Madrid back into the game.
When you thought the game would end 3-2, Bernardo Silva pulled a stunner out of nowhere before Karim Benzema scored from the spot to make it 4-3.
What a game, we all really cannot wait for the second leg.
Al to play for in the second Leg..Madrid still has the experience and the technical know how to progress
