PSG Played As A Team To Defeat Liverpool
Yesterday, Luis Enrique’s side played as a cohesive unit, much like in the first leg. Although they had less possession than they did in France, PSG demonstrated their ability to dig deep, stay competitive, and defend stoutly while maintaining a real threat on the counter-attack—a fantastic recipe for success in a cup competition like the Champions League.
PSG had multiple chances to score goals in the first half against The Reds. However, two poor misses from Barcola and one from goalscorer Ousmane Dembélé kept the score at 1-0 in favor of the French side at halftime.
The second half saw Liverpool increase the tempo, but PSG remained composed. Every single player for the Ligue 1 leaders stayed defensively alert, limiting Liverpool to just a few chances. Gianluigi Donnarumma delivered an outstanding performance in the shootouts, helping the French side eliminate Liverpool from the UEFA Champions League.
