Viktor Gyokeres has opened up on the possibility of joining Ruben Amorim at Manchester United in the January window.
Amorim will leave Sporting CP to after agreeing a deal to succeed Erik ten Hag.
Gyokeres has been linked with almost every major club in Europe after becoming one of the continent’s most prolific goalscorers. He strengthened his reputation on Friday night by scoring four goals in Sporting’s 5-1 win over Estrela.
The Swede is thought to have a close working relationship with Amorim, who gave him his big break by signing him from Championship outfit Coventry City, but he was coy on his future when asked if there’s a chance he could also head to Old Trafford.
“I don’t know,” Gyokeres told Portuguese broadcaster Sport TV. “I’m here, and I really like being here. It’s not something I think about. I’m enjoying it here.
“We are sad to see [Amorim] leave; he is a great professional; he was fantastic for us, but we have to adapt. It’s difficult to talk about the future, but we will definitely do the same job and continue to give our best. We wish him the best. It’s very good for him.”
