Vinícius Júnior has vowed to come back stronger and do it 10 times if he has to after Rodri beat him to the Ballon d’or award on Monday in Paris.
Up until early afternoon on Monday, Vinícius Júnior was the favorite to win the Ballon d’or award, and some news outlet even announced that he will lift the golden ball in Paris. However, news broke on Monday afternoon that no Real Madrid player will attend the event in solidarity to Vinícius Júnior.
Manchester City’s Rodri won the prestigious award despite Vinicius and Real Madrid’s exploits in the Champions League.
Kylian Mbappe won an award, but was not present to accept it. Jude Bellingham also made the top 3, but the English midfielder was also not at the award ceremony.
Many footballers and athletes have shown their support for Vinicius, who vows to do it ten more times if that is what it will take to do the Ballon d’or.
