West Ham made history last night by beating Fiorentina in the Final of the UEFA Europa Conference League 2–1 thanks to a 90th minute winner from Jarrod Bowen.
The Hammers lifted their first major trophy in 40 years last night, and it was a site to behold. West Ham looked lively from kick off as Antonio forced a shot off Terracciano after just 40 seconds. 11 minutes later, Declan Rice had an effort close to goal.
However, just before the break it was the side from Florence that had the ball in the back of the net, but it was ruled out for offside. WestHam took the lead from the spot after the referee had to check a handball incident by Fiorentina captain Biraghi.
Said Benrahma gave the irons the lead from the spot, but just 4 minutes later, Fiorentina equalized through Giacomo Bonaventura. Jarrod Bowen was on hand in the 90th minute to break the heart of Fiorentina fans right at the death.
Their victory means West Ham have automatically qualified for the Europa League next season despite finishing 14th in the League.
