The 2025 summer transfer window is now over, and fans can now focus fully on their teams instead of refreshing Fabrizio Romano’s page every 10 minutes.

Liverpool had the last hurrah in the last hours of the transfer window with the signing of their main summer target Alexander Isak, although they could not get Marc Guehi‘s deal over the line.

Chelsea were left scrambling also in the last hours after an injury to Liam Delap. Arsenal shopped well but could not sell. Real Madrid and Manchester City did the majority of their business early in the 2025 summer transfer window, and the Citizens also got a world-class goalkeeper on the final day – You get the gist, it was spectacular.

Now, here are the deals I thought were the best and most important deals of the 2025 summer transfer window.

Cristhian Mosquera to Arsenal

We all saw over the weekend how Arsenal did not look any different when Saliba came off with an injury and when Cristhian Mosquera replaced him. At just 21, Mosquera is incredibly mature on and off the pitch. He can be aggressive and also cool-headed when needed.

Signing a young prospect who can already lead a defence like that for an initial £13 million is a steal, especially if he lives up to his potential.

Alexander Isak to Liverpool

The biggest deal of the 2025 summer transfer window. As Liverpool could not continue to hang all the attacking responsibilities on an ageing Mohamed Salah, they were hell-bent on signing Alexander Isak.

Isak fits how Liverpool play, and he looks like the last piece of the puzzle for their attack. For £130 million, Liverpool are getting a proven goalscorer, and someone who desperately wants to win – and that is priceless.

Granit Xhaka to Sunderland

Sunderland already have 2 wins out of 3 in the Premier League this season. If they manage to stay up, it will be largely because of the business they did this summer. Bringing a player of Xhaka’s level into the club as the captain was a brilliant idea.

The Swiss midfielder is already the leader of the side, an experienced international star and a winner that can lift a side that will need lifting many times this season on the pitch.

Joao Pedro to Chelsea

As of September 2025, Joao Pedro’s move to Chelsea is already one of the best deals of the 2025 summer transfer window.

Chelsea needed another “difference-maker” apart from their talisman Cole Palmer, and that is exactly what they got in Joao Pedro.

He can play as a number 10, as a winger and also as their main striker. He has already started well, and already looks like a smart bit of business from the World Champions.

Bryan Mbeumo to Manchester United

Although everything may hang on Ruben Amorim geting it right this season, but picking up Bryan Mbeumo was a fantastic decision.

He already looks like a man who wants to lead United’s attack. With two goals already in the campaign, he looks set to continue from where he left off with Brentford last season.

Dean Huijsen to Real Madrid

One of the earliest deals of the 2025 summer transfer window. He instantly slotted into Real Madrid’s defence and was key for them at the Club World Cup in the United States.

The game he missed was where Los Blancos could not play out of PSG’s press and were thrashed 4-0. He looks like a player that could be at the club for many years – A solid buy.

Joan Garcia to Barcelona

It is the end of the Ter Stegen era at Barcelona, whether the German goalkeeper likes it or not.

Joan Garcia has slotted right in goal for the Catalans, and it looks like Stegen will have to find a new club when he returns from injury. €25m for a modern goalkeeper who is good with his feet and also fantastic at shot-stopping is a top deal.

Ilya Zabranyi to PSG

Signing a highly-rated 23-year-old defensive leader as PSG are now preparing for what life could look like without club legend Marquinhos.

Zabranyi has everything to be exactly what the 31-year-old Brazilian has been for the Parisians over the past 12 years.

Donnarumma to Man City

This is a powerful transfer, as it could signify a change in tactics/preference for one of the most important managers in the history of football.

PSG let Donnarumma go so they could get a goalkeeper like Chevalier who is better than Donnarumma when it comes to ball playing. That’s why it is interesting that Guardiola has let go of a ball-playing gem like Ederson to sign Donnarumma.

It signals something huge, and that is what I cannot wait to find out this season, so this transfer is very important.

Eberechi Eze to Arsenal

It just makes sense. A versatile, effective attacking midfielder/winger for Mikel Arteta as they chase trophies on every front this season.

Eze brings creativity, dribbling, and more attacking threat for the Gunners wherever Arteta chooses to slot him.

The former Crystal Palace man is in his prime, and hopefully, Arsenal’s continued growth will let it all work out for him in North London.
