After a tense 1-1 first-leg draw at St James’ Park, where Lamine Yamal’s stoppage-time penalty rescued Barça, Hansi Flick’s side exploded in the return fixture. Raphinha set the tone early, slotting home in the 6th minute following sharp interplay with Lamine Yamal and Fermín López to give Barcelona the lead and aggregate advantage.

Newcastle briefly responded as Anthony Elanga equalized twice (15′ and 27′), but Barça regained control just before halftime when Marc Bernal netted in the 18th minute, and Yamal converted a 45’+7′ penalty for a 3-2 interval lead.

The second half turned into a rout: Fermín López added a fourth in the 51st, Robert Lewandowski struck twice (56′, 61′) with clinical finishes, and Raphinha capped his man-of-the-match performance with a second goal in the 72nd after intercepting a loose pass and outpacing the defense.

Barcelona’s relentless pressing and attacking fluency overwhelmed Eddie Howe’s Magpies, who crumbled under pressure despite early resilience. The win highlights Barça’s revival under Flick, with Raphinha’s brace and creativity proving decisive.

Barça now await the winner of Atlético Madrid vs Tottenham in the quarters, eyeing a deep run in Europe’s premier competition.
