Manchester United defeated their Premier League nemesis, Brighton and Hove Albion, on Saturday as Ruben Amorim’s side continues a brilliant run of results against top teams in the Premier League.

United’s revival and the circumstances surrounding their story so far this season have made some people ask if Manchester United can channel their inner Leicester City and win the Premier League, even though no one mentioned them in the discussion before the season started.
Can United Do A Leicester?
Manchester United are not Leicester City; they have won the League 20 times, but after the season they endured in the 2024/25 campaign, they will need a miracle to steal the League from favourites Arsenal.

However, just like Leicester climbed from finishing 14th with 41 points in 2014/15 to win the Premier League in 2015/16, Manchester United can rise from finishing 15th with 42 points in the 2024/25 season to take the title away from Arsenal.
The Gunners have started this season brilliantly. Mikel Arteta’s men have lost one and drawn just one match in the league this season, conceding only three goals.
After missing out on the league for the past three seasons, experts now believe The Gunners are perfectly placed to win the Premier League, especially considering Liverpool and Manchester City’s slow start to the season.

Ruben Amorim’s side have proven that they can beat any team in the Premier League this season on their day. With Manchester United not playing in any European competition and already out of the Carabao Cup, United can now plan strategically for a shock title charge this season.
As things have looked more stable at Old Trafford over the past month, Ruben Amorim’s side can stay in the title race at least until December.
Realistically, Manchester United or any other team will need to fumble badly for someone to open up a substantial lead at the top of the table before Christmas. But if there is any league in the world where an “outsider” wins the League 10 years after Leicester City did the unthinkable, it is the English Premier League.
