Arsenal capitulated in front of their own fans once again this afternoon as Bournemouth beat the Premier League leaders 2-1 to stop them from extending their gap at the top of the table to 12, before Manchester City play against Chelsea on Sunday.

After a 1-0 win away in Portugal against Sporting, Arsenal needed to get back on tracks in the Premier League too, but against a stubborn Bournemouth side who are unbeaten in their last 12 Premier League outings.

Arsenal were threatning in the first half, but Bournemouth looked more organized tactically and that showed in how The Cherries scored their first goal. Kroupi slamed home the opener after brilliant work from Truffert and Christie.

The Gunners equalized through striker Viktor Gyokeres from the penalty spot after Ryan Christie handled the ball. After their eqaulizer, Arsenal becme very passive as they were trying to control how much access Bournemouth had up the pitch.

However, that worked against them as Bournemouth took the lead again in the 74th minute. English midfielder Alex Scot slamed home a nice finish with 15 minutes to go and Arsenal had no response.

The Gunners created a measly 0.22xG today compared to Bournemouth’s 1.33. It’s a performance that shows how poor Arsenal’s attack have been in attack lately. Hopefully, Mikel Arteta and his men can get back to winning ways in time to still win the Premier League as Manchester City continue to lurk.
