- Why Barcelona Have More Pressing Needs Than To Sign £60 million star
According to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, Barcelona have summitted a new proposal to RB Leipzig for the transfer of Dani Olmo. The Blaugranas want to bring in the EURO 2024 star to improve their midfield and attacking options ahead of the new season.
According to Fabrizio, Barcelona have agreed a 6-year-contract with the Spanish midfielder. The Catalans have proposed to structure the deal as €55m guaranteed fee, €4m easy add-ons, and €3m difficult add-ons.
Dani Olmo’s agent will try to look for a solution this week, as Barca want to wrap this deal up quickly.
Barca’s admiration for Dani Olmo is understandable especially after the tournament he had with Spain at the Euros, but they seem to be prioritizing the wrong player/position to improve.
Barcelona should be re-enforcing their left wing options at the club. The Catalans only have Ferran Torres available to play in that position going into the 2024/25 season. Ansu Fati could have been another option, but the 21-year-old picked up a foot injury.
Barca have been linked with Nico Williams all summer, but it is still unclear if the young winger wants to leave Bilbao this summer.
An extensive scouting for names in the left wing position should be the next step for Barca this summer, as the left wing represents the club’s weakest area in attack.
