Arsenal defender Gabriel Magalhaes sustained an injury playing for Brazil last week, and the 28-year-old defender will miss at least one month of action for the Premier League leaders.

The Brazilian defender limped off in the 64th minute while playing for Brazil against Senegal at the Emirates Stadium. Brazil national team doctors believe the former Lille man sustained a muscular injury in his right thigh.
Although further tests are still ongoing after Gabriel returned to Arsenal’s training camp, Arsenal medical staff expect Gabriel Magalhaes to be out for at least four weeks.
Gabriel has been in the Emirates for Arsenal this season, helping Mikel Arteta’s men reach the top of the Premier League table by leading a defensive partnership with Gabriel Saliba that many consider the best in Europe.

His injury is a major blow for Arsenal, but the Gunners are have better squad options in his position this season, than in previous seasons.
Arsenal can rely on impressive youngster Mousquera or energetic Ecuadorian defender Pierro Hincapie as options. Neither can match the sheer brilliance, aggressiveness, and aerial supremacy that Gabriel guarantees, but they also provide excellent options for the Gunners.
