Ousmane Dembélé has slipped to second place in the latest Ballon d’Or power rankings despite playing a starring role in Paris Saint-Germain’s Champions League success.
According to leading prediction market Polymarket, the Frenchman now holds a 23% chance of winning the prestigious award.

He has been overtaken by Harry Kane, who sits top with 26%, even after Bayern Munich’s semi-final exit. Dembélé was instrumental in PSG’s back-to-back Champions League triumph, notably scoring in the final. However, his overall goal tally this season, 20 goals and 11 assists in 40 appearances, is relatively modest compared to other frontrunners, which has slightly hurt his standing.
In contrast, Harry Kane has enjoyed a phenomenal campaign, netting an astonishing 61 goals in just 51 appearances across all competitions. This incredible scoring form has seen the England captain edge ahead in the race.

Dembélé remains firmly in contention, especially if he can help France go all the way in the World Cup. However, Kane’s monstrous goal-scoring record currently gives him the edge in the eyes of the prediction markets.
