Chelsea head coach Thomas Tuchel risked further punishment from the FA after his post match comments. He suggested that referee Anthony Taylor should face repercussions for his performance during the 2-2 draw against Tottenham Hotspur.
Tempers Flare As Both Teams Share Points.
Chelsea boss, Thomas Tuchel, was sent off at the end of the bad-tempered draw. Afterwards he claimed that the “whole (Chelsea) dressing room” had an issue with Taylor. “I cannot coach but the referee can whistle the next game?”. Harry Kane’s injury-time equaliser came from a corner that Tuchel felt was unfairly awarded. New signing Marc Cucurella’s hair appeared to be pulled by Spurs defender Cristian Romero. Tuchel was sent off after the final whistle after gripping Antonio Conte’s hand, seemingly aggrieved that the Tottenham manager was not looking him in the eyes. The two then squared up, with Conte also shown a red card. The two had previously clashed after Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg’s second-half goal, with Tuchel feeling Kai Havertz was fouled in the build-up.
When told that some Chelsea fans have been unhappy at Taylor’s decisions against Chelsea in the past, the head coach replied. “I don’t think just some of the fans think that. I can assure you the whole dressing room of us, every single person, thinks that.
“I can’t understand how the first goal is not offside. I also can’t understand when a player is pulled by their hair, the other player stays on the pitch. “Pull someone else’s hair, stay on the pitch and attack the last corner. This is for me without any explanation and I don’t want to accept it. Both goals should not stand and it’s a fair result because we were brilliant, deserved to win. This is my point of view.”
