Arsenal are close to signing Sporting Lisbon forward Viktor Gyokeres for a fee in the region of £75 million. The Swedish striker also feels keen on joining the Gunners and has made a move to the Emirates Stadium his priority this summer.

Arsenal Close In On Viktor Gyokeres

Mikel Arteta’s men previously linked themselves with Benjamin Sesko, with reporters suggesting that Mikel Arteta preferred the young Slovenian striker to Gyokeres. However, Arsenal’s priorities have now changed as they close in on what will become one of the biggest signings of the summer.

Viktor Gyokeres is a striker who can help Arsenal solve the goal-scoring problems they have faced since Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang left the club back in 2022.

Gyokeres has scored 97 goals and provided 28 assists for Sporting Lisbon in the last two seasons. His stats suggest he can more than solve Arsenal’s goal-scoring problems and maybe finally fire them to a league title in 2026.

The Gunners are also not stopping after landing Gyokeres. They have entered talks with Chelsea for Noni Madueke. The Gunners also reportedly feel interested in Rodrygo and have started talks with Crystal Palace for Eberechi Eze.

Arsenal are bringing in top-quality players as they aim to land major trophies after years of getting close. The Gunners have finished second three times in a row in the Premier League and suffered elimination in the semifinal of the Champions League last season by eventual winners PSG. With these additions, Mikel Arteta feels Arsenal will compete on all fronts.
