- Gunners Unveil German Star
Arsenal have confirmed the signing of Chelsea star Kai Havertz for a fee in the region of €65m. The German has signed a five-year contract with the Gunners after three successful years at Chelsea.
Arsenal coach Mikel Arteta was happy with his first signing of the summer. The Spaniard told Arsenal.com
“Kai is a player of top quality. He has great versatility and is an intelligent player. He will bring a huge amount of extra strength to our midfield and variety to our play.
Havertz joined Chelsea in 2020, and has made over 90 appearances in the Premier League, scoring 19 times for Chelsea. The German famously scored the only goal of the game when Chelsea beat Manchester City to the Champions League trophy back in 2021.
Kai Havertz Is Ready For Life At Arsenal
The German forward is excited to meet his new teammates and start life at Arsenal.
“It’s super exciting for me to be joining this amazing club and to be part of the Arsenal family. This club has such a big history, and I hope we can achieve lots of things.
“The mentality in the Arsenal squad is very high and you can feel that. That was one of the reasons why it has been so hard to play against Arsenal recently.
“The aim is to win trophies and I’m going to give everything to do that for the supporters and everyone at the club. I’m now looking forward to meeting all the players and the staff when we come back for pre-season.”

Havertz’s departure represents another step in Chelsea’s clear-out this summer. Mateo Kovacic, Kalidou Koulibaly, Edouard Mendy, Ngolo Kante have already left the club, and more outgoings are expected.
The German will not be Arsenal’s latest Summer signing for long, as the Gunners are already closing in on signing Declan Rice from West Ham.
