Barça have been monitoring the youngster for a while, and the club is now close to sealing the deal.

Roony will sign a long-term contract that includes a sell-on clause for Copenhagen, as the Danish club believes the Kuwait-born youngster will develop into one of the finest wingers in Europe.

Roony Bardghji started his career at Malmö academy before he moved to Copenhagen in 2020. Since his move to Denmark, he has emerged as one of the best Swedish talents.

He made his first-team debut for Copenhagen as a 16-year-old, becoming the youngest player to feature for the Danish side.

Almost a year later, he made his UEFA Champions League debut against Sevilla. In November 2023, he scored his first UEFA Champions League goal, delivering the winner in a 4-3 triumph against Manchester United.

Roony missed most of the 2024/25 campaign after he suffered a horrible knee injury that ruled him out for over 300 days. That injury negatively affected his transfer value and progress as a youngster.

Barcelona’s sporting director Deco strongly believes in the abilities of the young Swede, and the club could use him as a back-up option on the right flank when Lamine Yamal is unavailable.
