• Declan Rice’s Goal Helps Arsenal Secure UEFA Champions League qualification

Arsenal beat Newcastle 1-0 to secure UEFA Champions League qualification for the third season in a row. The victory over Newcastle means the Gunners have now reached over 70 points for the third consecutive season, and they will get a chance to try again in the Champions League after reaching the semi-finals for the first time in 16 years.

Declan Rice scored the winner for Mikel Arteta’s men with a thumping shot from outside the box in the second half. His goal denied Newcastle any points at the Emirates and secured Arsenal’s first victory over the Magpies in four meetings this season.

Arsenal Secure UEFA Champions League Qualification

Newcastle now need to beat Everton on the final day to seal a spot in the Champions League. They sit on 66 points in third position, only ahead of Chelsea due to goal difference. A point might also be enough for Newcastle, depending on other results on the final day.

Chelsea, Nottingham Forest, Manchester City, Aston Villa, and Newcastle are all fighting for the remaining three Champions League slots available in England.

Chelsea will qualify if they beat Nottingham Forest on Sunday, while Nottingham Forest must win their final match and hope Aston Villa drop points to return to the UEFA Champions League places.

Manchester City are on 65 points and still have two games to play—one against Bournemouth at the Etihad and another away at Fulham on the final day.

With Arsenal securing their UCL spot, it will be interesting to see how things pan out on Sunday.
