Arsenal have agreed a deal to sign 31-year-old midfielder Christian Nørgaard for a reported £11 million. Brentford have accepted Arsenal’s bid for their defensive midfielder, and the Dane is expected to undergo his medical with Arsenal soon and complete a deal to North London.

This move comes after Arsenal let Jorginho leave the club this month. Thomas Partey also expects to leave the club this summer, as Zubimendi and Nørgaard now serve as the new defensive midfielders for Mikel Arteta’s team.
Nørgaard will leave Brentford after 6 seasons with the West London side. He joined from Fiorentina and has since established himself as one of the best defensive midfielders in the Premier League, rising with the Bees from the Championship.

Nørgaard represents a Premier League-ready option for Arsenal, and Mikel Arteta spearheaded the hunt for the Danish midfielder. Spurs also showed interest in signing the Dane after former Brentford manager Thomas Frank joined Spurs, but Arsenal moved fast to secure his signing.
Arsenal have just replaced two midfielders in Partey and Jorginho, but they still expect to make a few more signings, especially in attack. The Gunners reportedly are closing in on Benjamin Sesko and also show interest in Real Madrid star Rodrygo Goes as an option for the left wing of their attack.
