According to The Athletic, Arsenal have reportedly contacted Real Madrid to start talks for a possible transfer involving Vinicius Junior.

The Brazilian has 12 months left on his contract with Real Madrid, and Los Blancos still hope to agree a deal with him. However, if a new deal proves difficult, Arsenal have opened talks with Real to facilitate a move for the 25-year-old winger.

Over the past 24 hours, reports have also linked Real Madrid with RB Leipzig forward Yan Diomande, with the Spanish giants already lodging a €100 million bid that Leipzig rejected for the 19-year-old winger.

Real are still in conversation with Leipzig for Diomande, and selling Vinicius before he can join any club next summer on a free will be the most ideal situation for Los Blancos.

Arsenal have just signed Christos Tzolis from Club Brugge, who is seen as a solution for their left wing after Trossard left. However, a market opportunity for Vinicius will be too hard for The Gunners to ignore as they look to improve their squad to a Champions League-winning level.

Vinicius has reiterated his desire to remain at Real Madrid, and close sources feel it is just a matter of time before he signs a new deal. However, things are still a bit complicated, especially since Kylian Mbappé joined the club and Vinicius has had to play second fiddle to the Frenchman.

Arsenal are in the perfect position to pounce on any opportunity regarding Vinicius.
