Barcelona have agreed to sign Marcus Rashford from Manchester United on a season-long loan with an option to buy next summer.

The 27-year-old has remained unsettled at Manchester United for the better part of the last two years, but now he will head to Barcelona—his dream transfer destination.

Barcelona will pay all of Marcus Rashford’s salary for the 2024/25 campaign. This came after the Manchester United forward also reduced his salary to fit into the Catalans’ budget.
Rashford spent last season on loan at Aston Villa. Despite impressing fans, Villa chose not to sign him permanently.

Ruben Amorim made it clear to Rashford again this summer that he didn’t see a future for him at Old Trafford, which pushed talks of a move away from England for Marcus Rashford.
Barcelona are signing a player with plenty to prove. Critics at Manchester United have scrutinized Rashford heavily in recent years for both his on-pitch form and his lifestyle off it. This move gives him a fresh start in a new league, with a dominant team, and in a new country—far from the English press.
