- Brighton Want More Money For The Ecuadorian Midfielder
Chelsea have had a £80m bid rejected for Moises Caicedo. Brighton immediately rejected Chelsea’s offer as they want more money for the young midfielder.
The Blues have now had three approaches rejected by Brighton, and reporter Fabrizio Romano maintains that Chelsea are still negotiating for the South American midfielder.
The Seagulls also rejected a £70M approach from Chelsea last month, but the Blues still have faith that they can complete a deal for the 21-year-old.
Brighton signed Caicedo from Independiente just 2 years ago for €5m, but since stepping unto the Premier League stage, Caicedo has made a name for himself as one of the best defensive midfielders in the League, and in Europe.
The midfielder wants to leave Brighton this summer, despite their Europa League qualification. He is yet to submit a transfer request like he did in January when Arsenal submitted a bid, but his agents are trying desperately to secure a move to Stamford Bridge this summer.
Chelsea manager Mauricio Pochettino has stated that his side needs reinforcements if they are to compete for major trophies soon. The Blues are looking to add talents like Caicedo and Mohammed Kudus before the end of the current transfer window.
