Chelsea have agreed a deal with AS Monaco to sign defender Axel Disasi for a fee totalling £38M. The Blues have signed the 25-year-old French defender as replacement for Wesley Fofana who suffered an ACL injury earlier this month.
Disasi is a 6ft3, no-nonsense right centre-back who has been at Monaco since his move from Reims back in 2020. Axel Disasi can play as a center back and also as a right back if needed. The Frenchman will complete his move next week as Chelsea also wrap up a move for French midfielder Lesley Ugochukwu.
The Frenchman has made over 130 appearances in the Ligue 1, playing over 10,600 minutes, scoring 8 times and providing 3 assists in that time.
Disasi will sign a 5-year contract with Chelsea with an option for an additional year. He will fly to London this week to finalize his move to Chelsea before the start of the European season.
Disasi’s deal makes it 2 deals under 48 hours for Chelsea. The Blues are still negotiating with Montpelier for striker Elye Wahi.
