Chelsea have agreed a deal to sign Atletico Madrid forward Joao Felix on a permanent basis for a fee in excess of £46 million. The 25-year-old Portuguese will sign a 6-year deal with The Blues with an option for a further year.
On the other end of Chelsea’s transfer saga with Atletico Madrid, Conor Gallagher will travel back to Atletico Madrid to finally sign for Rojiblancos, the terms of Conor Gallagher’s move to Atletico Madrid remains the same.
Joao Felix missed Atletico’s Monday night match against Villarreal because he expects to fly out to London on Tuesday, complete his medical, and sign his contract on Wednesday.
Chelsea previously signed Joao Felix on loan back in 2023, during a difficult transitional time for the club. He scored 4 goals in 16 matches and famously got sent off on his debut against Fulham.
Felix will finally put an end to his underwhelming time in La Liga. Atletico signed him for £113 million as an exciting prodigy 6 years ago when he was just 19. However, he has not been consistent enough to get to the level Atletico Madrid and Diego Simeone once thought he would.
At Chelsea he will have a chance to finally settle down at a club he likes with lots of young players around. Hopefully, he will prove a fantastic addition to the Premier League and Chelsea.
