Chelsea have agreed a deal to sign English striker Liam Delap from Ipswich Town for £30million. The Blues have been monitoring Delap for months, and now the 22-year-old striker has agreed to sign for Chelsea.

Delap will sign his contract as a new Chelsea player this week when he passes a medical. He will be part of Chelsea’s squad at the Club Wold Cup in the United States next month. Chelsea beat Nottingham Forest, Everton, and Manchester United to the signature of the Manchester City academy graduate.

Delap will join old friends like Cole Palmer and Roméo Lavia at Chelsea, and will once again work under a manager he knows from his time at Manchester City in Enzo Maresca.

Chelsea are still on the lookout for another striker to further bolster their attack. The Blues are still keen on Hugo Ekitiké who is valued at around £80million by Eintracht Frankfurt.

Chelsea are also looking to make Sancho’s loan deal permanent and will bring in another winger as they hope to build a squad capable of competing at the highest level next season.
